Originally built in 1926, The Hotel Normandie is a four story Spanish Colonial Revival hotel equipped with ninety-four guest rooms, a spacious lobby and ballroom, and ground level retail spaces. J Lou Development renovated and revitalized this historically significant hotel from the inside out with the intent to restore and reengage this neighborhood icon to its community. The hotel was stripped down to the basics and restored with all of the features that made it special. JLD put forth its extensive experience in historic renovation to return this building to its formal glory.
This iconic building has deep roots in LA's Wilshire District and was originally developed in 1926 by famed Los Angeles architects Albert R. Walker and Percy A. Eisen. The Walker & Eisen architectural duo produced many of Los Angeles' most iconic buildings during the 1920's and 30's including the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, United Theater on Broadway and the Fine Arts Building. Hotel Normandie's façade was pure Renaissance Revival while the interiors held a distinct Spanish colonial revival motif. JLD stripped the hotel down to the basics and restored all of the features that made it special.
